The artist Maria José Batista is paraense and self-taught. She has a history of struggle and perseverance in the art having the greatest stimulus to the interior and professional growth. As a child he learned to like the brushes and paints with his father, artist who encouraged her daughter to follow in discovering the magic of painting. Adult, had to work as a maid to support her children, but the desire to paint never faded, even in the most difficult and desperate times.
