José Miguel da Silva (1961, Bezerros – Pernambuco), the son of J. Borges, started to work at the age of 10, in his father’s printshop, where they produced large quantities of cordelleaflets. Initially, he worked withtypographic composition, and this assured his being near his father’s work to which he was progressively included, thanks to the great talent and technical ability he soon developed. Starting with small woodcuts, Miguel soonaroused the interest of marchands and collectors. Despite having sold many of his arrays, he has been able to form a collection that has more than 100 works, some of which are exhibited in Garanhuns, Recife and Rio de Janeiro.
